Paris in Colour

I have recently discovered the blog Little Brown Pen by Nichole Robertson. I am so happy and excited as I love looking at her photos of Paris.

She has a new book out called Paris in Colour, a collection of her divine photos of Paris arranged into colour palettes which started as the Paris colour project on her blog.

In a recent interview on the Cronicle Books blog, this is what Nichole had to say about her photos;
"About a year into the project, I realized I was taking the kind of photos of Paris that as a raging Francophile I wanted to see, but could never find. There are plenty of photos of the Eiffel Tower and sunsets over the Seine, but when I wasn’t in Paris I wanted to BE in Paris. On the streets, sitting at a café, peering into a cheese shop, admiring the cobblestones of Rue Montorgueil, seeing a charming sign for a €10 bouquet of tulips. I didn’t want the Versace-on-the-red-carpet version of Paris, I wanted the Converse and t-shirt Paris. The Paris you see when you step out of the shadows of the monuments."

I have ordered my copy and can't wait to sit down and pour over it when it arrives.

A Royal Anniversary

One year on - Congratulations to the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge.  Your first Wedding Anniversary is an exciting and special milestone. I hope they have spent the day together doing something special and spending time with each other.

Their Wedding is one of the most stunning I have ever seen. I have really enjoyed looking around the web and reliving their moment again. This time last year I was pouring over the TV footage and the subsequent images that were released. Catherine was breathtaking and they looked truly happy and in love.

I thought I would share some of those images so you can relive it again with me.

Much needed makeup bag additions

There is nothing like a few new items in your makeup bag to make you feel like a new woman. Recently I discovered some new items I can't believe I have been without for so long. For years I have been an avid fan of M.A.C cosmetics and I still am. Every day I use their bronzer, eyeliner and mascara

My latest finds are from YSL and Bobbi Brown;

YSL Touche Eclat

I have been reading for many years about Touche Eclat and I can't believe it has taken me so long to try it but now I have there is no going back. I love it and the results I get  from it. It is a Mother's best friend.

YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Mascara

Also from YSL I have discovered their Volume Effect Faux Cils mascara in high density black. It really does give a falsh lash effect. So lush.

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy
and their Volupte Sheer Candy lipgloss in No. 4 - Succulent Pomegranante. The gloss looks like a neon pink but it goes on so sheer and gives such a sheer layer of colour or you can layer it for a more intense colour if you prefer.
Bobbi Brown Ultra Nude Eye Pallet

From Bobbi Brown I have discovered (from their Neon and Nudes collection) their Ultra Nude Eye Pallet.

Hunter Boots

This morning I was out and about in the rain, wearing impractical wet weather shoes and wishing I had a pair of wellington boots. I have had my eye on the Hunter Wellington boots for a while as I think they are not only practical but look great. I especially like the gloss boots and on looking at their website just now I see they have adjustable boots which I love the idea of. So, I am going to get myself a pair. I have had a look on line and found Hunter boots herehere and here. Now to decide what colour to get.

Do any of you have a pair of Hunter boots and if so would you recommend them?

Fresh Flowers

Source: Here

I love fresh flowers in the house. Unfortunately the price of them doesn't allow me to have multitudes of them all the time. But today is special. My sister is in town and staying with us for the weekend. So I'm off to get some gorgeous flowers to fill our house.

I am going to cook this on the weekend. It was cooked for me before and it was sensational. I am hoping I can make it just as delicious.

My Living Room

Our new couches need cushions and I would also like to have an ottoman made. I created this pin board to start the creative juices flowing about the look I'm trying to create. I had it in my head and I needed to get it on 'paper' to see how it would look. I'm happy with it so far. Now to start the hunt for fabric and fingers crossed it all comes together as I hope. I created this on Polyvore - Click here to see details
