Happy Friday & Heavily pregnant...One year ago...

Happy Friday all...have you all had a good week?

I hope you have a nice weekend planned. We have a first birthday party for a little friend of H's to attend...other than that it's a quiet weekend for us...Yay!!

Here are some links from around the web I thought you might like...

This book by Claudia Strasser from The Paris Apartment is on my wishlist...

I love these gallery collections by Little Brown Pen...it's just so hard to choose a colour...

On a separate note...

I can't believe H is 1 at the end of next week!!! We are going to have a one year old in the house...no longer a baby...we will have a toddler!!

I am so completely amazed at how much happens in a year...

I was cleaning out some photos on my iPhone yesterday and came across these...I realised they were taken a year ago... a week before my life changed FOREVER...

I forgot how big my tummy got and how amazing we are (women) that we can grow a baby inside of us and then give birth to them...big ouch!!

P.S..Yes that is a knitting needle on my lap...part of my nesting phase had me knitting blankets for my little bundle of joy!!

Have a wonderful weekend all.

Gardenia Love...

I am so excited to finally get some Gardenia's in our garden this week. We are putting in several 'Professor Pucci' plants. We love the deep green shiny foliage and they have large creamy white flowers and are known for their strong scent. Yippppeeeeee....

My love of the Gardenia extends beyond the plant...I constantly wear Annick Goutal's Gardenia Passion. ...

Diptique's Gardenia candle and room spray are gorgeous...

I'm currently loving Lafco's 'Living Room' candle...it is a 'Fresh Cut Gardenia' scent...it smells amazing and really fills the room...

One of my very first perfumes as a teenager was Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia. I haven't seen it for years and wasn't even sure if it was still available until I googled it just now...I found it here...from memory it was lovely...

On my wish list is Chanel's Gardenia perfume...

I have been looking around at photos getting excited....I wanted to share some with you. Not only do they smell amazing but they are pretty to look at too...

The Little Black Jacket...

I can't wait for this to come out...its release date is August 25, 2012. It's available for pre order here...

The book description on Amazon says..
This book is Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld's reinterpretation of Chanel's iconic little black jacket. Lagerfeld has redesigned the jacket, transforming it into a modern, adaptable garment to be worn by both sexes of all ages. The Little Black Jacket contains Lagerfeld's photographs of celebrities wearing the jacket with individual flair - sometimes classic, sometimes irreverent, but always Chanel - and each styled by Carine Roitfeld. A range of accomplished actors, musicians, designers, models, writers and directors gets the little black jacket treatment, including Claudia Schiffer, Uma Thurman, Kanye West, Tilda Swinton, Baptiste Giabiconi, Yoko Ono and Sarah Jessica Parker. This book shows the astounding versatility of Chanel's vision in Lagerfeld's hands, and ensures the little black jacket's future as a timeless classic.
Will you be buying a copy?

A slight obsession...

I was cleaning out one of my bags today and these were all in there......needless to say I think I have an obsession with all things lipstick, lipgloss and lip balm..

Image: Jessica Flett

Image: Jessica Flett

These are some of my favourites. They are all pink, soft and the glosses are very sheer.

I have been a fan of the Stila lip glaze for a long time. I have them in several colours but these are the two I use the most - Strawberry and Apricot. You can find them here.

My latest lip balm crush is Christian Dior's Creme de Rose. Mentioned previously here. I love the creaminess of it and the beautiful rose smell.

The little Chanel is the divine Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. It is a lovely pink and the lipstick has a nice light texture. Find it here.

The M.A.C is Lustre lipstick in Syrup. I was given this by a close girlfriend when I was Bridesmaid for her 4 years ago and I have been wearing it ever since. It is the perfect dusty pink that you can wear with everything. You can find it here.

As mentioned previously here I am a recent fan of the YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy lipstick in succulent pomegranate #4. I love how sheer the colour is and the choice is yours to wear it sheer or build up the layers for a stronger effect. You can get the range here and here

The Bobbi Brown Lip Glosses are great. They are nice and thick but still sheer and not too sticky. They also don't dry my lips out too much which is a huge plus as I have a big problem with many glosses and lipsticks for that reason. The ones I have and are pictured above are Popsicle and Marina Pink.

Do any of you have a borderline obsession with all things Lipstick, balm and gloss like I do? If not do you have any other make-up obsessions? I'd love to hear about them.

Gold Week Telethon....PLEASE DONATE

The Gold Week Telethon for the Sydney Children's Hospital is on Channel 9 today.... RIGHT NOW!!!...

PLEASE TUNE IN AND MAKE A DONATION...

The people at Sydney Children's Hospital are really fabulous and they do such important, hard work. We know first hand as last November we were in Emergency twice with our little man with a mystery virus. He was only 5 months old. The doctors and staff at the Hospital were amazing. They were terrific with H and so supportive and caring of us. They left no stone unturned in trying to diagnose him. We were lucky we were only there for 2 nights and H recovered quickly. There are many others not as lucky and they rely heavily on the tireless efforts of all the people at the hospital.

Please support the wonderful work all the doctors, nurses and staff do at the Hospital and give generously...Call

The Mighty Toddler - Robin Barker

I just bought a copy of The Mighty Toddler by Robin Barker. I am a huge fan of Baby Love and have referred to it many, many times since H was born.

Pan Macmillan have this to say about the book;

Practical and essential, The Mighty Toddler includes key milestones for each age group; a complete ABC of toddler behaviour and responses; a guide to day-to-day toddler care; explanations about toddler health, medical conditions and illnesses; and Robin's down-to-earth advice on how to keep your life on track! Recently revised to include up-to-date information about potty training, childcare, swimming, personal safety and food allergies and intolerances, The Mighty Toddler is the most comprehensive guide available to Australian parents.
I was having a quick flick through and on page 4 - What are the basic things a Toddler needs? I read the following; I loved it and wanted to share it here..
And never forget to remind yourself that you are doing the most vital job in life. Even if it is unpaid, unacknowledged, unappreciated and often unsupported by the society in which we live, the person your toddler will become will be a tribute to your skill and commitment. Truly amazing with you think that we learn it all on the job, isn't it?
I'm really looking forward to the challenges and excitement of the toddler years. I feel lucky to have wonderful references like The Mighty Toddler at hand.

Bobbi Brown - How to videos..

I love these how-to videos by Bobbi Brown. I know she has been a cult brand for many years but she is a fairly recent discovery for me. I am a huge fan. The first of the two videos below shows a 10 step process to perfect makeup and I really love the final look. It's sweet and pretty - perfect for daytime.

The second video is her Taxi TV video which shows how to do the perfect smoky eye in the back of a taxi using her long wear cream eyeshadows. I love how easy it looks to do and how terrific the final look is.

I have just bought some of the long wear cream shadows on line so will let you know how I find them when they arrive.

I would love to hear if any of you use them..if you are familiar with any of the Bobbi Brown products? If so...which ones are your favourite?...

Finally...here is a blog post I found on Makeup and Beauty Blog - 15 Minutes with Bobbi

Diane Kruger at the 65th Cannes Film Festival

I have just been looking at some of the photos around the net of the 65th Cannes film festival. So many beautiful outfits...

The one who really stood out to me was Diane Kruger. As a first time juror at Cannes she knocked it out of the park in the fashion stakes. I have been a style admirer of hers for a long time. She makes everything look so effortless and cool. I was just reading that she doesn't have a stylist...as she said herself in a 2011 interview with Vogue UK "I come from fashion, and who knows better what I like than myself?"

Here are my favourite looks from her red carpet appearances throughout the festival. I think my overall favourite is the gorgeous Christian Dior she wore to the closing ceremony.

I would love to know your favourite?....
